Marketing Thoughts & Ideas Continued...

The make-up artist would promote the hotel's wedding package to her clients-by keeping its wedding package information handy-while the hotel would market her beauty services in its package to brides; each company would offer special discounts to brides who utilize both businesses.  In addition, the two businesses can split the costs of signage and promotion.  Faster than you can say, "I Do," you've got an ideal marriage of two businesses!

6.  Is there adequate electricity to accommodate your air conditioning/heating systems, generators, band or dj, lighting, and kitchen facilities?  If not you may need to contract with an electrician to ensure there will be enough power.

7.  Will the location accommodate the number of guests and the rental items you may be bringing to the venue?

8.  Have a backup plan for inclement weather.

9.  Consider a tent. There are many different styles and types to accommodate your guest list and your budget.   Depending upon the time of year, you may need to rent air conditioning or heating systems to keep your guests comfortable.

10.  Rental items you will need to consider include subfloor, dance floor, tables, chairs (for ceremony and reception), linens, lighting, china, flatware, bars, glassware, and serving utensils.

11.  Select a caterer that can provide many of the rentals you will require as a part of the package.  This decision will save you time and money transporting and cleaning dishes!

12.  When discussing menu options with the caterer, make sure you keep in mind the space you have for food tables or stations and kitchen facilities if required.  This space is in addition to the space you need to consider for your band, dj, cake, dance floor, décor, and guest tables.

13.  Make sure you meet with all your vendors at the prospective site to do a site visit and walkthrough to ensure your space is adequate to meet the wedding vision you have in mind.  They should all attend this site visit together so they may work as a team to determine their needs and the best options for set up.
